The Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre will close for a week next month while workers replace its main electrical switchboard.
The facility will shut from Thursday, April 2, to Wednesday, April 8, reopening at 5:30am on April 9.
Management said the upgrade was essential to prevent unplanned outages and keep the 30-year-old facility running reliably.
“The timing of these upgrades has been carefully planned to coincide with the Easter break to reduce the impact on our members,” they said.
“We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete these necessary improvements.”

Workers will also replace lighting in the pool hall and continue tiling upgrades in the entry and cafe during the shutdown.
A limited group fitness program will run at the Elizabeth Street conference room behind Town Hall while the centre is closed.
The facility opened in 1996 and includes a 50-metre pool, diving facilities and gym. It hosts state and national swimming events.
Members will not be charged for the closure days, though direct debits will continue running.
Learn to swim students who have lessons scheduled during the week will not be charged for those sessions, the centre said.
