Another of Hobart’s most beloved cafes has bid farewell to its loyal customers after a successful 15-year stint.

Jackman and McRoss on Victoria Street in the city closed on Friday, in what owners Nerida and Justin McRoss said was not an easy decision to make.

“This was by no means a light decision,” they wrote online.

“Sometimes a change in circumstances can result in hard decisions.”

“Thank you for your understanding. We have really appreciated your support.”

It is understood the decision to close comes following an ‘unsatisfactory outcome’ with the landlord, similar to the circumstances surrounding the closure of the nearby Macquarie Street Foodstore in May.

The closure has left many locals saddened, however the owners assure everyone that it is business as usual at their Battery Point and New Town locations.

Current employees will be offered positions in teams at the other stores.
