A Hobart driver has been fined for ‘recklessly’ blasting through a red light and causing an ‘avoidable’ crash.
The crash, which occurred around 10pm on Friday night, saw the driver run a red light at the Molle Street and Davey Street intersection.

The driver then collided with another vehicle and crashed through a fence on Davey Street, just moments before the light was about to turn green for them to go.
Police described the crash as a “scary example of how one moment of distraction is all it takes” for a collision to occur.
“Luckily no one was seriously injured. The driver who ran the red light will be fined and issued demerit points.”
They urged drivers to remain vigilant on the road and to “pay attention”.
