A Hobart fashion designer has landed a collaboration with the state’s new AFL team, creating a limited-edition bomber jacket.
Emma Petterwood’s brand Romy has worked with the Tasmania Devils on lifestyle merchandise, with the bomber jacket being the first true collaborative piece between the AFL club and the female-led Tasmanian brand.
“It’s been a year in the works and just incredible to see it come to life,” Petterwood told Pulse.
The unisex design will be available in sizes from extra small to double extra large, with pre-orders now open through Romy’s website for four weeks only.

“However many are sold, we’re going to produce that amount,” Petterwood said.
“Once the four-week window closes, that’s it.”

Petterwood launched Romy in December 2022 and now operates out of a Victoria Street studio in Hobart.
The brand focuses on art-led fashion, working with local and international artists to translate artwork onto garments.
Petterwood, who has a marketing background, started the fashion house after running a multi-brand boutique in Hobart.
“I have a passion for art and I had this idea that bringing artists and fashion together in a really meaningful way could be something cool,” she said.

“With absolutely no experience, I set about creating a fashion brand. I think ignorance is bliss.”
The collaboration represents a significant milestone for the three-year-old brand, which has pivoted from wholesale to focus on direct-to-consumer sales.
“To be part of the new era is amazing for a brand that is just three years old,” Petterwood said.
Bomber jackets are available at www.romythebrand.com for four weeks only.
