Police have seized four firearms, including one reported stolen, following an incident at a Hobart hotel on Sunday afternoon that has left a 28-year-old man facing multiple charges.
Officers were called to a waterfront hotel around 3:15pm yesterday after reports that a man had allegedly threatened another person with a gun.
The suspect then attempted to dispose of two additional weapons while “trying to outrun officers” through the CBD before police apprehended him on Liverpool Street.
A later search of a property on Campbell Street uncovered another firearm along with ammunition, bringing the total haul to four guns and a quantity of ammo.

The Hobart man is due to face court today on a string of charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a stolen firearm and several offences relating to unlicensed firearm possession.
He is also facing charges for possessing a prohibited firearm, ammunition without a permit and minor drug offences involving controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Police are asking anyone who saw the incident at the hotel or the events that followed in the CBD to come forward.
