New data from international company Numbeo.com has revealed Hobart is the third safest city in Australia, only behind Canberra and Adelaide.
The data shows Hobart has a low crime rate and a high safety index, “particularly when it comes to the risk of being attacked, robbed, or assaulted,” said property investment expert Michael Yardney.

Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds says its reassuring to hear for residents and visitors to the Tassie capital.
“This report is a great reminder of what a safe place Hobart is compared to many other Australian and international cities,” Reynolds said.
“While there can be challenging issues at times, the data provides some reassurance and perspective”.
