Hobart’s Tesla dealership was recently targeted by vandals who defaced the entrance with graffiti labelling Elon Musk a “Nazi”.
The graffiti has since been removed from the Derwent Park building, with Tasmania Police confirming they haven’t received any reports about the incident.
Tesla declined to comment.
Images shared online by Grassroots Action Network Tasmania (GRANT) show the site painted in slogans like “Musk is a Nazi”, “Heil Tessla” and “Down with DOGE”.
One image depicted Musk with a Hitler-style moustache and referred to Tesla vehicles as “swasticars”.
GRANT used the incident to promote alternatives to Tesla and advocate for public transport.
“… There’s never been a better time to ditch your swasticar and swap it for a Nissan Leaf, or even better yet a green card,” the group said.
“As we all know that well-funded (free) public transport is the true key to reducing transport emissions.”
