Hobart’s McCann’s Music Centre to close its doors

After 142 years, McCann’s Music Centre, one of Hobart’s iconic instrument dealers is closing its doors.

Third-generation owner, Geoff McCann, has decided to retire and bring an end to the family business by Christmas.

McCann’s Music Centre was founded in 1881 and has undergone various changes over the years, as well as witnessing various technological advancements and changing musical trends.

Geoff McCann returned the store to its roots, focusing solely on musical instruments, print music and tuition.
