Tasmania Police have closed Huon Road after a vehicle drove off the road and down an embankment this morning.
Pulse understands the incident was reported to authorities at about 9am on Saturday.
Police have closed the road in both directions. with a number of emergency services currently working to extract the vehicle.
Details of the number of people inside the vehicle at the time have not yet been confirmed.
Police say no serious injuries have been reported.
The crash just prior to Halls Saddle means Pinnacle Road to the summit of Mount Wellington is inaccessible from the city.
Cars can detour via Summerleas Road and Fern Tree.
“Motorists are urged to use caution approaching the area, delay their travel if possible or take an alternative route,” police said.
