A Launceston woman has scored a $2 million win in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw, discovering her life-changing luck just days before her birthday.
She held one of five division one winning entries nationally in the January 10 draw.
The woman told lottery officials she nearly missed out on the windfall altogether because she often forgets to buy a ticket.
“It’s pretty funny because my partner plays religiously and never misses a week, whereas I always forget,” she said.
“I only said to him last weekend, ‘Don’t worry, I got it early this week, so I don’t miss out again!'”

The winner said she checked her ticket over the weekend but tried not to get her hopes up.
“I didn’t know how to feel when I saw it,” she said. “It’s life-changing. It just doesn’t feel real.”
She plans to use the money to pay off her mortgage and make some investments, with helping her parents also high on the list.
“I’d love to help mum and dad with their home too,” she said. “They’ve helped me a lot over the years.”
The winning numbers were 23, 1, 41, 8, 30 and 25, with supplementary numbers 32 and 37.
Five players shared the division one prize pool, including three winners in Victoria, one in Queensland and the Tasmanian winner. Each took home $2 million.
