An illegal rave that attracted hundreds to an alleyway in the Hobart CBD was shut down by police overnight.
Six police units responded to a public complaint about the large gathering in Bidencopes Lane at 10:40pm on Saturday.
Officers shut the event down, making their way through the crowd to talk to the DJ, before the crowd dispersed without incident.
No arrests were made.

The event was organised by Psy On Events, a community group behind previous illegal music gatherings in locations including the underground Hobart Rivulet tunnels.
The organisers posted on social media this morning thanking attendees for their support.

“You guys smashed it. Thank you for always coming and supporting us,” they wrote.
“Without all of you guys, we would be nothing. So together we create what we do.”
The group said they had “such a sick time till we got shut down” and praised participants for being respectful toward police.
“Once again police officers are only doing their job … Being respectful towards them is the only way to be.”

The organisers said most of the officers acknowledged they were “sadly shutting down some the sickest party’s they have ever come across”, but they vowed to continue hosting events despite the shutdown.
“We will never stop raving and we hope you don’t ether.”
