The Tasmania JackJumpers are preparing for a meaningful cause at their last home game of the NBL25 season.
The fourth annual Teal Round in partnership with the S.H.E (Support, Hope, Education) Foundation will raise funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers.
It is also set to support S.H.E.’s mission to build a state-of-the-art Cancer Wellness Centre in Hobart.
The sold-out game against the Cairns Taipans at MyState Bank Arena on Saturday 8 February will feature JackJumpers players wearing specially designed teal jerseys, shooting shirts and socks.
The event is inspired by the late Jo Harris whose courageous battle with ovarian cancer is driving S.H.E.’s ongoing advocacy.
Ovarian cancer remains one of the most deadly with survival rates unchanged since 1979.
Funds raised during the Teal Round will contribute directly to the Cancer Wellness Centre with the Tasmanian Government pledging $10 million toward the project and the community raising $600,000 to date.
The JackJumpers have raised over $150,000 for the foundation since the initiative began in 2022.
This year, they aim to further that impact, calling on fans to support the cause through activities including an online auction of game-worn teal jerseys and shooting shirts, purchasing replica teal jerseys and donating at the arena.
