A Kingston man has been slapped with a two-year licence disqualification after allegedly attempting to evade police while driving at more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Police tried to intercept a white Ford Ranger ute in Kingston around 1am Sunday as part of routine alcohol and drug testing operations.
The vehicle allegedly attempted to avoid police multiple times before officers located it shortly after.
The 40-year-old driver from Kingston returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.159, more than triple the legal limit.

He was arrested on the spot and instantly disqualified from driving for two years.
The man will face court at a later date on charges of drink driving and several other serious traffic offences.

Senior Sergeant Peter Borish warned of the dangers posed by impaired drivers on Tasmanian roads.
“Police remind the public that drink and drug driving on our roads places obvious risks to drivers, the community, and emergency responders,” Borish said.
“High range drink driving can have deadly consequences.”
Authorities are now appealing for public assistance, requesting anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage of a white Ford Ranger driving dangerously in Kingston over the weekend to come forward.
