Kingston home goes up in flames, thick smoke engulfs neighbourhood

A Kingston public housing home has been destroyed after a devastating fire this afternoon.

The Tasmania Fire Service are currently working to extinguish the blaze off Wattle Street in Maranoa Heights.

Pulse understand the fire is contained to a unit in the ‘Wattle Unit’ complex.

The cause of the blaze will be examined by fire investigators.

Fire investigators tell Pulse a pet dog was pulled to safety from the house, with the full cost of the damage not yet known.
