TT-Line is undergoing a leadership transition with the departure of chief executive Bernard Dwyer.

Kym Sayers, the company’s current chief financial officer, will step in as acting chief executive from November 3.

Dwyer, who announced his resignation in September at the end of his term, is leaving after 14 years with the company.

His departure followed that of former TT-Line chairman Mike Granger, who was asked to resign by the state government amid a parliamentary inquiry into the botched Spirit of Tasmania replacement ferry project.

“Bernard’s leadership has steered TT-Line through key milestones and strengthened our operations, reinforcing our dedication to delivering exceptional service,” board chair Damian Bugg said.

“On behalf of the entire team, we extend our sincere thanks and best wishes to Bernard for his future.”

Bugg said Sayers will navigate TT-Line through “both the exciting growth opportunities and challenges” that lie ahead for Spirit of Tasmania.

“The operation of our two ferries … and the consistently high quality of our service remain a source of pride for both TT-Line and Tasmania,” he said.
