Governor Barbara Baker is continuing to weigh her options after meeting with Labor leader Dean Winter this afternoon, following talks with Premier Jeremy Rockliff last night.
Winter visited Government House on Wednesday, where he said he reaffirmed his party’s position on potential coalition arrangements.
“In that meeting, I reiterated my position that Labor will not be doing a deal with the Greens,” Winter said in a statement just before 3pm.
Official Secretary David Hughes confirmed the governor will meet with Premier Rockliff again by the end of the week.

“As previously stated, Her Excellency is giving due consideration to all available options and is considering advice from a number of sources,” Hughes said.
“No decision has been made at this time.”

“Further statements will be made in due course.”
Speaking on Wednesday morning, Rockliff said he made the case for an early election during his 40-minute meeting with the governor.
“We had a wide-ranging conversation of the circumstances,” Rockliff said.
“But Her Excellency has a high degree of responsibility in ensuring the stability of the parliament and I’ll leave those deliberations up to her.”
