A Tasmanian real estate agent is offering a $10,000 reward after his Launceston home was firebombed in the suburb of Waverley in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Kyle Barrett, who runs Town and Country, was half-awake at 1:34am on May 14 when a loud bang outside his window woke him.
Barrett said he initially had no idea what had happened and shouted out in alarm before rushing outside.
A neighbour reached the scene first and grabbed a fire extinguisher after failing to find a hose.

Three Molotov cocktails had been thrown at Barrett’s car, which was parked in the driveway between the house and the street boundary.
The fire was put out quickly and the house escaped damage. But the car did not.

Barrett said the flames had melted parts underneath the vehicle and he was relieved nothing else had caught alight.
Several locals have since handed over CCTV footage showing the explosions and a person running from the scene.
Barrett believes the attack was targeted and linked to his recent push for all real estate agents to hold an active Working with Vulnerable People registration.
“I believe there are very limited people that would be motivated to conduct such attack as a result I remain unintimidated,” he wrote on social media.

“Evidence is rapidly being compiled and I appreciate community members which have assisted to date.”
Police are investigating and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously, quoting ESCAD 22-14052026.
