Tasmanian devil LEGO figures have been spotted being moved into the state’s first LEGO store, as excitement builds ahead of the highly anticipated opening.
The large-scale LEGO devils were this morning seen being wheeled into the store, located in the former Rivers building on the corner of Collins and Elizabeth streets in Hobart.
The display appears to feature a LEGO Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife officer feeding a devil – a nod to one of the state’s most iconic animals.
The 330-square-metre flagship store is due to open its doors in late October.

It is set to become one of the largest LEGO outlets in Australia and New Zealand.
Housed within a heritage-listed building constructed in 1917, the store will showcase the toy giant’s signature brick-patterned facade and illuminated LEGO signage.

LEGO’s Asia Pacific Director Collin Johns previously said the Hobart store will have a strong Tasmanian focus.
“The LEGO Store in Hobart will be more than a retail outlet,” he said.
“It will be a creative hub for the community, offering hands-on play experiences, interactive displays and events that encourage learning and family connection.”
He said special builds highlighting Tasmanian landmarks and native wildlife will feature throughout the store.

“We deeply respect Hobart’s unique heritage character and have worked to ensure our design harmonises with the surrounding environment while meeting our global brand standards,” he said.
