A 22-year-old man has been charged with multiple firearms offences after a gun was allegedly fired through the front door of a Rokeby unit.
Police allege the man approached a residence on Joseph Street about 4:50am on Wednesday and fired through the door.
The blast damaged the door and interior of the home. No one was injured.
Detectives launched an investigation and conducted a search at a separate Rokeby property on Thursday morning.
Officers took a man into custody and allegedly seized a loaded sawn-off shotgun.
The man has been charged with recklessly discharging a firearm, discharging a firearm within 250 metres of a dwelling and possessing a shortened firearm.
He is expected to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on Friday.
Police believe the incident was “targeted” and involved people “known to each other”.
