Police have released the identity of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in an industrial rubbish bin behind a Hobart business, as investigators work to piece together his final movements.
Luke Jon Telega was last seen alive around 10pm on Saturday night.
His body was discovered around 9am on Monday in a bin behind a business in Bellerive on Hobart’s eastern shore by a rubbish contractor.
Detective Inspector David Gill said there is currently a “gap in the timeline” of around 35 hours between when Telega was last seen and when he was found.

With the family’s permission, police have released Telega’s name and photo, hoping it will prompt witnesses to come forward with information.
An autopsy carried out earlier today showed “no visible signs of injury”, but Gill said no further details would be made public at this stage.

“Police continue to maintain an open mind and treat the death as a case of misadventure or foul play or a potential combination of both,” Gill said.
He said officers returned to the eastern shore today as part of ongoing inquiries.
Investigators are particularly interested in tracking Telega’s movements on Sunday, the day between when he was last seen and when his body was found.
“Detectives have today spoken with members of the public, conducted further door knocking of homes and businesses and reviewed CCTV footage,” Gill said.
Anyone who saw Telega in Bellerive or around greater Hobart is urged to contact police on 131 444 or share information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
