A Launceston magistrate has voiced frustration over the pace of proceedings in the case of a man accused of murdering 14-year-old Shyanne-Lee Tatnell.

Scottsdale man Christopher Mark Jordan, 37, made his latest appearance in court via video link from Risdon Prison on Tuesday charged with the teen’s death.

Tatnell had been reported missing from Launceston’s Henry Street on April 30, 2023.

As reported by The Examiner, Magistrate Sharon Cure told the defence to ‘get things moving’.

She reminded the defence, represented by Devonport lawyer Mark Doyle, that the initial complaint was filed over a year ago and urged them to expedite the preliminary proceedings.

Jordan’s case was adjourned until October, with a further hearing scheduled on the preliminary proceedings list.
