City-bound traffic on the Southern Outlet is facing major delays this morning after two multi-vehicle crashes.

Up to seven vehicles are believed to have been involved in the first incident, which police say is minor with no injuries reported.

A second crash has also been reported between Kingston and Tolmans Hill in the city-bound lanes, with no injuries reported.

Authorities are urging motorists to slow down and approach the area with caution, or delay their travel if possible.

“The wet conditions are presenting additional challenges and motorists are advised to drive to the conditions,” police said.

“There are anticipated delays for northbound traffic on the outlet this morning until the scene is cleared.”

Traffic congestion is building in the area as both scenes are cleared and police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.

Vehicles travelling from Margate into Hobart are being diverted via the Channel Highway.
