The man accused of fatally shooting a Tasmania Police officer during a home repossession has had his case adjourned until late November.
Leigh Geoffrey Sushames, 46, appeared via video link from custody in the Devonport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is charged with murdering Constable Keith Anthony Smith, who was allegedly shot dead at a property on Allison Road in North Motton on June 16.
Sushames also faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Defence lawyer Greg Richardson told the court more time was needed before his client could enter a plea, citing the seriousness of the case and the amount of background work required.

Magistrate Evan Hughes granted the adjournment, saying he had no issue delaying proceedings if it served the interests of justice.
Sushames is due back in court on November 22.
Police allege Constable Smith was attempting to deliver a court-ordered repossession notice when he was shot.
Six officers and officials were at the property at the time, including three Special Operations Group members and two people involved in the repossession process.
He was charged three days after the incident and has been in custody since.
