A man accused of walking out of a Hobart jewellery store with nearly $10,000 worth of goods has been charged.
Police were called to the CBD store shortly before 11am on Wednesday after staff reported a man had left with a “quantity of bracelets and anklets”.
Officers arrested the man in Warrane around midday, roughly an hour after the alleged theft.
He has since been remanded in custody.
Police say only a small portion of the stolen jewellery has been recovered so far.

A spokesperson said investigations are continuing to locate the remaining items.
“Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact police on 131 444 (quote OR789985),” the spokesperson said.
“Information can also be provided to Crime Stoppers Tasmania on 1800 333 000 or at crimestopperstas.com.au. You can stay anonymous.”
