A man has been charged after police allegedly found him carrying a firearm and two knives alongside a busy Hobart road.
The 25-year-old was arrested in Lutana on Wednesday morning after a member of the public reported him to police about 10am.
Officers attended the scene near the Brooker Highway and took the Blackmans Bay man into custody a short time later.
Police allege they found several items in his possession, including a firearm, ammunition and two knives.
He has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a dangerous article in a public place.

The man was detained to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday evening.
Police said there were no reports the man used the firearm or made any threats.
