A man has been rushed to hospital with a fracture to his leg after his car collided with a vehicle carrying Polish tourists in Tasmania’s Central Highlands.
The crash occurred on Highland Lakes Road near the Waddamana Road intersection around 11:30am on Sunday.
Police say the man’s Nissan Tiida was travelling north when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and into the path of the oncoming vehicle.
He was transported to the Launceston General Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Other passengers in the Nissan were unharmed.

The Polish tourists, who were travelling in the opposite direction, escaped without injury.
Ambulance Tasmania assessed them at the scene as a precaution.
Unseasonably “cold and wet” conditions at the time may have contributed to the crash, police said.
Police are continuing their investigation.
