A man in his 50s has died after his Volkswagen Golf collided with a prime mover on a rural road in southern Tasmania this morning.
Emergency services were called to Fingerpost Road at Campania about 6:40am on Thursday after reports of a serious crash between a car and a truck.
Police said the man died at the scene. The truck driver was not physically injured.
Fingerpost Road remains closed between Colebrook Road and the Tasman Highway while investigators examine the scene.

The closure is expected to remain in place until further notice.
The truck driver is assisting police with their enquiries and will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has information, to come forward.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the crash,” police said.
“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
The death adds to Tasmania’s road toll, with authorities again urging drivers to take extra care on the state’s roads.
