A man has died after being struck by a falling tree on a private property in southern Tasmania this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Huon Valley incident just after 9:20am on Wednesday.

Police said the man, aged in his 50s, had been felling trees when the incident occurred.
“Initial inquiries indicate the man was felling trees at the time,” police said in a statement.

“Sadly, he died at the scene.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner, who will investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones,” police said.
