Man alleged to have rammed mobile speed cameras, police station with car

A man who allegedly rammed a Tasmania Police station in April and later used a vehicle to damage multiple speed cameras is set to appear in court.

The 26-year-old from Clarendon Vale has been charged with destroying property after allegedly reversing into the front doors of the Clarence Plains Police Station in April, resulting in around $12,000 worth of damage.

6 months later, across in October and November, Police allege he used a vehicle to damage multiple mobile speed detection trailers.

He was disqualified from driving during both of the incidents.

Police say he was arrested yesterday after a search warrant was executed at a property in Clarendon Vale, where they discovered multiple stolen items.

The man is now facing charges related to property destruction, driving violations and fraud.

He has been detained in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
