A 20-year-old man is recovering in hospital after allegedly being assaulted by a “group of youths” at the Glenorchy Bus Mall on Saturday night.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns about youth-related violence in the Hobart suburb.
Police say the man suffered head injuries during the altercation, which happened around 7:30pm at the transport hub.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the incident and has since been charged with assault.
The case has been referred to Glenorchy’s Criminal Investigation Branch for further inquiries.
Just last month, police launched Taskforce Respect, a high-visibility operation aimed at cracking down on repeat youth offenders in Glenorchy, Moonah and Claremont.
It comes as more anti-social behaviour involving young people continues to be reported across the northern suburbs.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Glenorchy Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
