Vonette Mead has made history by becoming the first female president of Master Builders Tasmania.
Mead, who has worked in the industry for over three decades, was elected to the position at the organisation’s recent annual general meeting.
Master Builders Tasmania CEO David Clerk congratulated Mead on her appointment, highlighting her “commitment to the industry and the community”.
“Vonette has been a trailblazer for women in industry,” he said.

“My team and I look forward to working with Vonette and our new Board as we put in place strategies to help grow our workforce from 29,000 to 40,000 and continue to deliver the $27 billion infrastructure pipeline over the next ten years.”
Mead is also the Deputy Chair of Keystone, sits on the Cradle Coast Regional Economic Steering Committee and a Latrobe councillor and deputy mayor.
Clerk thanked outgoing President Tony Streefland for his service, who held the role since 2021.
