A Tasmanian man pulled over while riding an electric scooter, armed with a large gardening hook, has been arrested.
The 43-year-old from Devonport was taken into custody after he was stopped while riding down Don Road around 3pm on Tuesday.
A subsequent search of the man allegedly found cash believed to be proceeds of crime, leading to a raid on his home.
The search of his home reportedly uncovered a “significant quantity” of methamphetamine, cannabis, ammunition and property suspected of being stolen.
The man is now facing charges for drug-related offences, possessing a dangerous article in a public place, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of crime and property suspected of being stolen.
A 37-year-old Devonport woman has also been charged with drug offences as a result of the search.
Both have been bailed to appear in court in February.
