A man who barricaded himself inside a Miandetta home has been taken into custody after a five-hour police operation.
The incident began around 11am on Fossey Place, with police cordoning off the area and asking people to stay away.
Police described it as an “isolated incident” involving one person at a residence. They assured the community there was no wider risk to public safety.
The man is understood to have refused to leave the house during the lengthy standoff.

Police negotiated with him throughout the afternoon before successfully taking him into custody just before 4pm.
“The isolated incident on Fossey Place at Miandetta has been safely resolved,” police said in a statement.

“The person who was inside the residence was taken into custody a short time ago.”
“Residents are thanked for their patience and understanding.”
