Nearly 600 meals were served at the long lunch, complete with a traditional Christmas feast and a special appearance from Santa Claus dishing out presents for children.

“On 25 December every year we enjoy providing a traditional lunch, companionship and the spirit of Christmas for Tasmanians in the south of the state,” Home Base said.

“Our Community Christmas Lunch has been an annual event bringing the community together for over 40 years.”

Home Base worked with Flint Kitchen to deliver the event, supported by a range of time, food, gifts and funds from the community.
