A southern Tasmanian man has been charged with multiple child sexual abuse offences, including five counts of rape, as part of an ongoing police investigation.
The man, aged in his 50s, was recently arrested after inquiries by the Southern Sex Crimes Investigation Unit.

Tasmania Police said the man was first charged with several historical sexual offences late last year, before more alleged victims came forward.
The latest charges relate to the alleged abuse of two additional children, on top of charges laid in December 2023 involving three children under the age of 12.
He has been released on bail under strict conditions and is due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in late September.
