The Sandy Bay food scene has witnessed the end of another era, with Burger Got Soul announcing its closure.
The beloved locally-owned burger joint, which has been a staple in Hobart for 12 years, suddenly shut its doors permanently last night due to ‘unforeseen personal circumstances’.
Sonia Routley, the proud owner of Burger Got Soul, took to Facebook to share the news with her loyal patrons.
“It is with great sadness I advise that, for personal reasons outside of my control, Burger Got Soul Sandy Bay has closed,” Sonia wrote.
Routley extended her gratitude to those who stood by the store over the years.

“I would like to sincerely thank the talented staff, and many loyal friends & customers, who have supported BGS for 12 happy years in Hobart.”
People have taken to social media to share their disappointment at the news.
“Fond memories of great burgers there with friends over the years, thanks for a wonderful service,” one Facebook commenter said.
The Launceston Burger Got Soul store have confirmed they will remain open.
