The property is now valued at over $10 million and dates back to 1813, when it began life as a sheep grazing property for the then Governor of Tasmania.

It has since been transformed into a large-scale vineyard and multi-faceted rural holding boasting a variety of income streams and development opportunities.

The 608-hectare property across three titles includes 35-hectares planted with pinot noir, chardonnay, merlot, sauvignon blanc, riesling, chenin blanc, gamay and cabernet sauvignon.

There is potential to plant an additional 200 hectares, the listing states.

The vineyard has 456-megalitres of irrigation water and a 100-megalitre dam.

Both the Storm Bay and Nocton labels are distributed nationally and the property has an established cellar door.

It is expected much of the interest in the property will come from overseas buyers.

Nocton Vineyard is located in the Coal River Valley, within minutes of the historic Richmond village and just 20 minutes drive to Hobart Airport.
