North Tas man charged after mega $300k crime spree

A Tasmanian man who allegedly stole multiple vans, trucks, excavators and white goods with a combined value of $300,000 has been charged after his ‘mega crime spree’.

Police say the 35-year-old man from East Devonport has been charged with close to 40 offences after a ‘significant amount of stolen property’ was found at an Acacia Hills property yesterday.

The man will appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court later today, charged with several drug, driving, burglary, trespass and breach of bail offences.

FULL CHARGES:

  • 14 counts of Breach of Bail
  • 7 counts of Drive while disqualified
  • 8 counts of Stealing
  • 2 counts of Burglary
  • 2 counts of Trespass (Land)
  • 1 count of Selling a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Selling a Controlled Plant or its Product
  • 1 count of Use a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Possess a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Resist a Police Officer
