Tasmania Police said the driver suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

“At this stage it appears the driver was not wearing a seat belt,” police said in a statement.

Investigators are examining the cause of the crash, including whether speed was a contributing factor.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no other cars were involved in the incident.
