Two separate stabbings within an hour of each other have prompted a large police presence on Hobart’s eastern shore this evening.
The first incident was reported around 5:40pm at KFC on Ross Avenue in Rosny Park, with a young person receiving non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers are currently searching for the offender allegedly responsible.
The second stabbing occurred in the nearby Rosny Bus Mall a short time later.

Images from the scene show the footpath and a set of stairs covered with blood.
A police spokesperson said a male victim injured in the bus mall incident is in stable condition after receiving injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A young person has been taken into custody and is assisting with enquiries.
Investigators believe the parties involved in both incidents, which occurred just across the road from the Bellerive Police Station, are known to each other.
Police Minister Felix Ellis will announce a trial initiative on Tuesday morning that will enable police to use detection wands in public spaces to identify and confiscate weapons.
Labor has also been advocating for changes to knife laws and plans to introduce legislation in Parliament aimed at granting police more permanent powers to address the issue.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
