Over 16,500 Tasmania Devils foundation jumpers have been released into the wild in what has been hailed as a ‘hugely successful’ first batch of merchandise.
Devils executive director Kath McCann described the response to the club’s first official branded merchandise as “humbling”.
“You can imagine they’re finding themselves all over the world in all different places,” McCann told Brent Costelloe on SEN.
“I get photos [of people in guernseys] and … I just love receiving them, so thank you.”
The strong merchandise sales come alongside the sale of tens of thousands of beanies and scarves.
“Those sales are really important to the club in terms of how we perform, not only around getting the brand out into the market, but also our financial performance,” she said.
“It’s a massive help and we’ve been so thrilled to be able to work with Tasmanian suppliers.”
Tasmanian-made scarves and beanies produced at Taz Textiles in Hobart are still available to buy online.
New hoodies, sweatshirts and long-sleeve t-shirts will go live on Monday morning, while foundation jumpers will go back on sale later this month.
“We want all Tasmanians to benefit from this club and being able to work with suppliers like [Taz Textiles] is a really tremendous way of us to be able to achieve that,” McCann said.
