A pedestrian has been treated for minor injuries after a crash on the Midland Highway south of Launceston.
Police say the male received non-life threatening injuries and was receiving medical assistance at the scene near Breadalbane.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for routine testing.
Police said the person was assisting officers with their inquiries.
Earlier: Motorists heading towards Launceston on the Midland Highway are being warned to expect delays after a serious crash involving a pedestrian.
Traffic in the northbound lanes has come to a stop on the highway at Breadalbane following the Monday afternoon incident.
Police say a pedestrian has been hit by a car.
The extent of their injuries remain “unknown at this stage”.
“Motorists are advised to expect delays and to avoid the area while the scene is cleared,” police said.
The Midland Highway through Breadalbane has a speed limit of 110km/h and no pedestrian footpaths.
