82-year-old pedestrian hit by car at busy Launceston intersection

A pedestrian has been hospitalised following a crash in the Launceston CBD this afternoon.

The 82-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle around 12:05pm at the intersection of Brisbane and George streets.

Police said the woman received medical assistance at the scene before being transported to the Launceston General Hospital.

“Initial indications are her injuries were non-life threatening,” a spokesperson said.

“Tasmania Police would like to thank the public for their assistance at the scene while the crash was being attended to.”
