People rushed to hospital after carbon monoxide incident in Glenorchy building

Update: The scene of the hazardous materials incident has now been deemed safe. Two people were transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier: A number of people inside a Glenorchy building have been rushed to hospital this morning after a hazardous materials incident.

Police and emergency services responded to the address on Main Road around 9:45am on Thursday.

A spokesperson said those inside the building had minor exposure to what is believed to be carbon monoxide.

Two people are being transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for medical treatment.

Firefighters are at the scene investigating the incident and working to make the site safe.
