Person injured, three youths arrested after Eastlands disturbance

Updated – 4:10pm: A 17-year-old boy has been charged with common assault and stealing following the incident in Rosny.

Police allege a woman in her 40s was assaulted after engaging in an altercation with a group of youths.

The 17-year-old boy has since been charged with common assault and stealing and will appear in after hours court.

Earlier: Police have arrested three youths following a disturbance on Hobart’s eastern shore this afternoon that left one person injured.

Officers responded to reports of an altercation between two parties in Rosny Park at approximately 12.30pm.

Pulse understands the incident occurred outside the Woolworths supermarket entrance in the Eastlands car park.

One person sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident, though authorities have not released details about the nature of those injuries or whether the person required hospitalisation.

Eye witnesses told Pulse they saw the victim lying on the ground following the incident.

Police moved quickly to locate suspects, apprehending three young people shortly after the disturbance.

While two youths have since been released, one remains in custody and is assisting police with their enquiries as investigations continue.
