Police said the man took off from the scene of the Shoreline Drive incident in a car.
He was intercepted a short time later on the South Arm Highway near the Tasmania Police Academy.

Police said no one was physically injured in what they believe was a “targeted” attack between “people known to each other”.
The man is now in custody and helping police with their enquiries.
Police confirmed a knife has been seized as evidence.
