An elderly woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a two-car crash at a Legana intersection this afternoon.
The 86-year-old was rushed to Launceston General Hospital in a serious but stable condition after the crash, which happened around 12:45pm.
She was a passenger in a black Subaru driven by an 81-year-old Legana man.
Police say the Subaru was turning right into Gerrard Close from the westbound lane of Bridgenorth Road when it was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound black Suzuki hatchback.
The impact left the intersection closed for several hours while emergency services cleared the scene.

Both drivers escaped with minor injuries, police said.
Police are asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward as investigations continue.
