A section of Hobart’s central business district has been closed to the public this morning as police respond to an “isolated incident” in Wellington Court.
The popular public area, which connects the Elizabeth Street Mall and the Wellington Centre, was cordoned off on Friday, with officers seen holding tarps over entry points to the area.
“Police and emergency services are currently responding to an isolated incident in Wellington Court, Hobart,” a police spokesperson told Pulse.
“The area will be closed until further notice.”

Pedestrians and shoppers are being diverted around the area while police continue their investigation.
“People are thanked for their patience and understanding at this time,” the police spokesperson said.
