An attempted burglary at New Norfolk home by two men in their 30s and two teenagers has been foiled by police this afternoon.
Police say officers received reports of an aggravated burglary in progress at a property on Back River Road shortly before 3pm on Wednesday.
Several police units quickly swarmed the area and arrested three suspects a short distance from the scene.
Two men, a 39-year-old from Dromedary and a 31-year-old from Gagebrook, have been charged with aggravated burglary, along with a 16-year-old teenager.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities work to locate a fourth individual, believed to be another teenager.
All three charged have since been granted bail and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
The incident comes amidst a ‘crime spike’ in the Derwent Valley area that New Norfolk residents say has them ‘living in fear’.
