The fire had completely destroyed the unoccupied property before Tasmania Fire Service crews could bring it under control.

Tasmania Police Detective Inspector David Gill said the fire was deliberately lit.

He urged anyone with information to come forward.

“If anyone has any information in relation to the fire or suspicious activity in the area around the time, police ask them to come forward,” Gill said.

Information can be provided to the Criminal Investigation Branch on 131 444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers Tasmania.
